Providing "Meals of Mercy" With Love and Compassion
MUSLIMAZ N THA STREETZ
How do we work?
Through our commitment to minimizing food waste and repurposing donations, we proudly provided weekly nutritious meals to over 8,000 individuals last year. Our mobile food pantry collaborates with local non-profits, eateries, suppliers, companies, and individual donors to rescue quality food destined for waste. This initiative significantly lowers meal preparation costs for our "Meals of Mercy" Mobile Soup Kitchen Program, allowing us to extend our reach and enhance our impact within the community.
Our mission for meaningful change is rooted in the belief that community involvement is key. We strive to be a genuine and principled ally, always evolving in our approach. The "Meals of Mercy" Mobile Soup Kitchen brings wholesome meals directly to those without homes in metro Atlanta, extending warmth and nourishment to those in hidden corners — under bridges, alongside highways, nestled between buildings, and within shelters. Our outreach is a lifeline for veterans and those with disabilities who find themselves on the streets, far from stationary food services. Together, we're not just serving meals; we're serving dignity and hope.

As the founding Executive Director of this organization, my own journey through homelessness has profoundly shaped our mission. Driven by a personal understanding of the struggles that come with lacking a home, I am committed to changing lives for the better. Our inception was inspired by the late "Big Haroun," also known as Aaron Bridges, whose advocacy for the homeless was a beacon of hope. His belief in the power of sharing a meal, coupled with his encouragement to channel my culinary talents for communal good, laid the foundation for our work. His legacy endures through an in-kind grant he generously provided, ensuring that our efforts honor his memory and continue his vital work in the community. Brother Haroun's legacy is always remembered as we strive to be a source of sustenance and support for those in need.
